OK. It’s the night before we leave. Here’s a quick summary of the Paris plan.
We arrive early Tuesday afternoon and head on up to our Paris apartment in Montmarte. We’ll be grabbing dinner at the famous La Moulin de la Galette (painted by Renoir). Then over to the infamous Moulin Rouge.Â
Wednesday is shopping and museums (very Parisian). The day starts with breakfast at Le Meurice. After that, a visit to the Musee de la Publicite followed by d’Orsay. Dinner will be a blast -- we’re going to Guy Savoy. The night ends with a nightcap at the Experimental Cocktail Club (thanks to my friend, Laura, for the recommendation).Â
Thursday we head to the Pompidou for some modern art. Before that, a visit to the massive flea market of Marché aux Puces de Clignancourt. The one show we have in Paris is an odd one: John Malkovich narrating the Divine Comedy at the National Opera House. No matter what it should be unforgettable!
Friday we’ll wander the Ile di Citi, including Notre Dame and Saint Chapelle. At night, though, is the restaurant I’m most excited about: the Jules Verne (atop the Eiffel Tower).
Saturday we shop the trendy Marais district, visit Printemps and have dinner at Joel Robuchon’s La Table. His Las Vegas masterpiece, L’atellier, is one of the best places I’ve ever been. I can only imagine how great this will be.
Although we’re leaving Sunday it’s still a full day. We’ll cruise down the Seine (complete with lunch service) and visit the Musee de la Cinemateque (a Gehry building). The night ends aboard an overnighter train ride through the alps and into Venice.
