Another late night brought on by a time zone crossing -- this being our last for a while. We’re close to England, now. Thursday morning we’ll be disembarking to Southampton. But more on that as it happens.
Today, like yesterday, was a quiet one. It’s our actual anniversary (May 4) but we kept it low key. I decided to embark on a photo safari of the liner. I bagged a few good pictures but I’m still processing them -- so will post tomorrow.
Dinner was a quiet one tonight. We went to the romantic Todd English restaurant on deck nine. The service was terrific, and they even surprised us with an anniversary cake (pictured above). We’ll share that with our table tomorrow night.
We capped off the evening with one, final show at the Royal Court Theater. Tonight’s extravaganza was the Royal Cunard Singers tribute to Italy: Viva Italia. The dancing was excellent as were the costumes. There was one bit where the dancers, dressed in white, recreated poses of famous statues. It was quite elegant, really. The singing, while technically strong, was an embarrassment. In one number they seemed to simply be reading off the contents of an Italian menu. And you thought the Sopranos was offensive.
As we need to get up early I’ll keep this brief. I’ll write our final QM2 blog tomorrow. Until then, a small selection of photos from the last two days to amuse:
